New Mexico's community solar program is designed so that standard-rate subscribers help power the enhanced 28% savings for low-income neighbors in their community — while still saving on your own electric bill.

You also qualify for the 28% Enhanced Rate if your household participates in any of:
  • Medicaid
  • SNAP (Food Stamps)
  • LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance)
  • First-time home owner program
  • Affordable or low-income housing resident
  • State or Federal income tax credit recipient

Income thresholds are the HUD FY2025 80% Area Median Income limits for each New Mexico county. Final eligibility is confirmed at enrollment via self-attestation under NMSA 1978 § 62-16B-4. Documentation may be requested.
